The
oceans are the most powerful and mysterious places on earth, occupying over 70%
of the Earth’s surface. So closely tied
to the sea, the human body mirrors the earth with our bodies made of roughly
65% water. So it is no surprise that we
love all that the sea offers.
The sea has always fascinated us from the tall tales of
fisherman’s conquests, and historic accounts of exploration. There is no
shortage of literature filled with real sea creatures and mythological ones
interacting with man.
Rumi, the 13th century Persian poet, scholar and
mystic sums up our relationship with the ocean with this quote:
“You are not a drop in the ocean.
You are the entire Ocean in a drop”
We have only explored 10% of the ocean and considering it
provides such an enormous amount of the Earth’s living space, there is so much
we don’t know. What we do know is that
90% of the ocean’s inhabitants exist in the deep sea known as the abyss.
The ocean renews us, provides leisure and recreation.
A quick internet search of the most popular vacation
destinations turned up California, the Caribbean, Florida, and Hawaii. The only
non beach location was Disney, which is almost as awesome as the ocean anyway.
According to a
study found in HUFFPOST TRAVEL scientific research confirmed that water returns
us to our natural state, we’re more relaxed along the coast. Looking at
pictures of the sea had benefits, being near the sea brought even more positive
results. Even the fact that the color blue has been proven to sooth human
beings points to the effect the ocean has on us.

Anything is Salt Water Sweat, Tears or the Sea
